This application note describes the determination of trace concentrations of disinfection byproducts bromate, chlorite and chlorate in drinking water and bottled mineral waters by ion chromatography using electrochemical suppression.

A secured supply with clean drinking water as well as the protection of natural waters from discharge of pollutants arising from industrial and other human sources is one of the most challenging tasks for mankind today and in the centuries to come.
